The
MPP is designed to develop an understanding of structure and process
of policy formulation and implementation, using both Australian and
international material. It evaluates the analytical techniques used
to pursue particular policy objectives. The program is appropriate for
those seeking a future as practitioners in public, voluntary or political
work and may also be useful for those intending further study and research
in political science. The program consists of three core units and five
other units. The availability of units will depend on student demand

| Master of International Relations | |||||||||||||
| The
Master of International Relations (MIR) is designed to develop an understanding
of the institutions and political, economic and legal processes of the
international system. The program is designed for those who wish to
study international relations both out of interest and for career advancement
in public business, voluntary or political work. It may also help to
prepare students for higher level tertiary study and research in international
relations. The program will consist of four compulsory international
relations core units and four further optional units chosen from either
regional studies units offered by the Politics Department or units from
other appropriate disciplines within the university which have a strong
international emphasis, including communications, economics, business,
