Direct Entry English Program for International Studies (DEIS)

DEIS, Direct Entry English for International Studies, is a new program that has been developed by The Centre for Macquarie English (CME) for overseas students wanting to gain entry into undergraduate and postgraduate courses with an international focus at Macquarie University .

The DEIS course is the recommended English pathway for students planning to study International Relations, Politics, International Law, International Communications and International Business at Macquarie University, as it has been developed in close consultation with the Department of Politics and International Relations.

By successfully completing the DEIS course, you will gain direct entry into MIR and other International Studies programs at Macquarie University and you will have developed an understanding of the academic culture and the expectations on students in an Australian university.

In particular, this course will be advantageous because:

  • You will develop skills in formulating a well-supported, grammatically accurate, written position on various international issues and participating actively in scholarly debate.
  • You will also expand your knowledge of international studies as you will be working with topics, readings, and assignments that are directly relevant to international studies.
